Since it’s Memorial day (in the US), it’s only appropriate that we look at this seemingly meaningless word used by our Army. Wikipedia defines Hooah as follows:
“referring to or meaning anything and everything except?no.”
I had the honor of coaching at the US Military Academy at West Point for 3 years. The term was heard on a daily basis. When I left in 2008 to finish my doctorate and pursue my business full time, one of my lasting thoughts was how I’d love to work with these great men and women again at some point. The “Hooah” attitude manifests itself in the ability to get anything done regardless of the circumstances without hand holding. This is something that I think any business owner could appreciate. It makes up for specialized skills. It’s an intangible that’s valuable no matter what. Hooah.
